Policy Advocacy and Reform

At Policy, Inc., we are dedicated to advancing policy advocacy and reform in the criminal justice system. We collaborate with policymakers, stakeholders, and communities across New York to shape and implement evidence-based reforms that promote justice and equity. Our focus areas include bail reform, pretrial detention, sentencing reform, parole and re-entry, as well as broader issues related to racial and economic justice. By engaging in strategic advocacy efforts, we aim to eliminate harsh and ineffective laws that disproportionately impact communities of color and low-income populations.

Community Engagement and Support

We understand the importance of community engagement and support in driving meaningful change. In South East Queens, where the criminal justice system has disproportionately affected communities, we actively work with local organizations, advocates, and stakeholders to develop community-based solutions. Our team organizes events, engages with community members, and provides technical assistance and support to organizations on the ground. By collaborating closely with local partners, we strive to address the unique challenges faced by South East Queens and promote justice and equity in the region.

Violence Prevention and Intervention

As part of our commitment to building safe and thriving communities, we collaborate with organizations like Life Camp INC, Kings of Kings, Man Up, and Community Capacity Development Inc, as well as the New York City Crisis Management System to address the root causes of violence. We support a public health model of violence prevention and intervention, which emphasizes community-based approaches and holistic strategies. Through our advocacy efforts, we work to increase access to education, job training, and resources that promote economic opportunity and social mobility. We also advocate for policies that prioritize mental health and trauma-informed care to support individuals affected by violence and trauma.
