Parole reform is a critical issue in New York State, where thousands of individuals are released from prison each year only to face a complex and often unjust parole system. For many, the process of navigating parole can be daunting and confusing, with strict rules and regulations that can easily result in a return to prison.
We are committed to advocating for parole reform in New York State, with the goal of creating a fair and equitable system that supports successful reentry and reduces recidivism. We believe that individuals who have completed their court-mandated sentences and are working to rebuild their lives should not be subject to an overly punitive and arbitrary parole system.
At our organization, we support efforts to reform the parole system in New York State, including measures to increase transparency and fairness in parole hearings, expand access to reentry services and support, and limit the use of measures such as electronic monitoring and strict curfews. By advocating for parole reform, we can promote greater justice, fairness, and compassion in the criminal justice system.
At Policy, Inc., we are committed to advocating for policy solutions that will address these issues and promote justice and equity in South East Queens.
